Venezuela is facing one of the worst natural disasters in its modern history after a pair of devastating earthquakes left hundreds dead, thousands injured, and entire communities reduced to rubble.
Authorities now report that at least 589 people have lost their lives following the twin earthquakes that struck the country this week. Rescue crews continue working around the clock as they race against time to locate survivors buried beneath collapsed buildings before the critical rescue window closes.
The tragedy comes as Venezuela remains burdened by years of political turmoil and economic instability, creating additional challenges for emergency responders attempting to reach devastated areas.
