Vance Doubles His Closest 2028 Rival in New Poll

With the 2028 presidential race still far from officially taking shape, early polling is already beginning to sketch out a clear front-runner on the Republican side. A new Center Square Voters’ Voice survey shows Vice President JD Vance holding a commanding position over other potential contenders, cementing his status as the early favorite among GOP voters and right-leaning independents.

According to the poll, Vance earns support from 36% of respondents, putting him well ahead of the rest of the hypothetical field. That figure keeps him comfortably in first place and continues a trend seen in earlier surveys, where he has consistently maintained a double-digit lead over his closest competitors.

The next strongest contender is Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who lands at 17% support. Close behind him is Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, who registers 7%. While both figures represent movement in their direction compared to earlier polling, neither comes close to challenging Vance’s dominant position in the early field.

Notably, another 17% of respondents remain undecided, indicating that a significant portion of the Republican electorate is still uncommitted this far out from the 2028 primary season. That uncertainty leaves room for shifts as the political environment evolves, but for now, Vance holds a strong structural advantage.
