The United States has launched another round of strikes against Iranian targets, marking a major escalation in the growing confrontation between Washington and Tehran.
U.S. forces struck targets in the strategic Iranian port cities of Bandar Abbas and Sirik, as well as Qeshm Island, according to the supplied report. Explosions were reported across the three locations before U.S. Central Command publicly confirmed that American forces had begun the operation.
CENTCOM said the strikes were directed at the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, or IRGC, and linked the military action to recent threats against commercial shipping and American personnel stationed in the region.
