Two Ships Hit as Iran Strikes

Tensions in one of the world’s most strategically important waterways escalated dramatically Monday after two commercial vessels were reportedly attacked while transiting the Strait of Hormuz, raising fresh concerns about maritime security and the stability of global energy supplies.

The incidents occurred just days after Iranian officials warned that ships sailing through the narrow passage could face a “forceful response” if they failed to comply with Tehran’s directives. The Strait of Hormuz serves as a critical shipping route for a significant portion of the world’s oil and liquefied natural gas exports, making any disruption a matter of international concern.

According to Reuters, a Qatari liquefied natural gas tanker and a Saudi-flagged crude oil tanker were damaged amid reports that Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps launched missile attacks against commercial shipping in the region.
