Jim Jordan is unsuccessful in winning the initial vote for Speaker.
Jim Jordan, a steadfast conservative and a founding member of the House Freedom Caucus, ran against 20 GOP lawmakers for the leadership position on Tuesday.
Twenty delegates who were supposed to vote for Jordan instead cast ballots for other candidates, casting doubt on the party’s unity and upsetting conservatives.
