President Donald Trump is reportedly weighing a major shakeup inside his administration, and one familiar face is leading the list to take over a crucial post. According to a Friday report from Axios, Trump is seriously considering appointing longtime adviser Stephen Miller as his next National Security Adviser.
Miller, currently serving as Deputy Chief of Staff and Homeland Security Adviser, is no stranger to the inner workings of the Trump White House. A fierce loyalist and trusted confidant, Miller has been at Trump’s side since the early days of his 2016 campaign and remained a powerful force throughout his first term and into his current administration. Should Trump move forward, Miller would step into one of the highest-profile foreign policy positions in the nation.

The National Security Adviser seat opened up after former Florida Congressman and Green Beret veteran Mike Waltz stepped down. In a surprise move announced Thursday, Trump revealed Waltz will soon head to the United Nations as America’s next ambassador. Until Trump settles on a permanent replacement, Secretary of State Marco Rubio is temporarily assuming national security responsibilities.
