Federal prosecutors recently revealed that an Iranian government-linked operative attempted to assassinate Trump before the 2024 election. According to a bombshell report from POLITICO, the suspect, identified as Farhad Shakeri, has been charged with murder-for-hire and providing material support to a foreign terrorist organization. He is currently believed to be in Iran and remains at large.

The assassination plot is widely seen as retaliation for Trump’s 2020 order to take out General Qasem Soleimani, a top Iranian military commander and a known terrorist leader.
