In an embarrassing blunder for event organizers, an eight-page document with inside details of President Donald Trump’s summit with Russian President Vladimir Putin was discovered sitting in a hotel printer in Anchorage just hours before the highly anticipated Ukraine peace talks.
The paperwork, though not loaded with major national security secrets, contained plenty of behind-the-scenes information — including what Trump planned to gift Putin and even the menu for their canceled luncheon. NPR was quick to pounce on the story, pushing it across social media where it quickly went viral.
The materials were reportedly found by three guests at the upscale Hotel Captain Cook. They stumbled upon the pages in a public printer accessible to anyone in the lobby, raising questions about how such sensitive documents ended up there in the first place.
Among the revelations was a canceled lunch menu featuring filet mignon with a brandy peppercorn sauce and a salad topped with champagne vinaigrette. Another page displayed a seating arrangement that showed both presidents at the center of a boardroom table, according to the New York Post.
