While the book doesn’t confirm exactly what made Obama laugh, it’s not hard to imagine the visual—a Republican icon inviting a Democrat rival to tee off at a Trump-owned property. The exchange was so unexpectedly warm that even Trump himself later commented on how friendly it appeared.
“It did look very friendly, I must say. I didn’t realize how friendly it looked. I saw it on your wonderful network just a little while ago before I came in and I said, ‘Boy, they look like two people that like each other,’” Trump told reporters after the service.
That one moment of civility and laughter stood in stark contrast to others in the room. Most notably, Kamala Harris, still smarting from her election loss to Trump, looked visibly uncomfortable. Sitting just feet away, she appeared irritated by the camaraderie between the two former presidents, glancing around the church like she’d rather be anywhere else.

Sources claim she told those close to her that she no longer feels the need to “fake civility” toward Trump, and couldn’t stomach sitting near him, even with her husband in the same row.
