President-elect Donald Trump recently took a swipe at Vice President Kamala Harris’ 2020 campaign, which, according to reports, has incurred massive debts of up to $20 million despite spending over $1 billion on a losing effort. Trump, never one to miss an opportunity to make a point, took to social media to express his surprise over the situation.
“I am very surprised that the Democrats, who fought a hard and valiant fight in the 2020 Presidential Election, raising a record amount of money, didn’t have lots of $’s left over,” Trump posted on X (formerly Twitter). He followed up by suggesting that the situation, while unfortunate, could present an opportunity for his party to step in and help. “Now they are being squeezed by vendors and others. Whatever we can do to help them during this difficult period, I would strongly recommend we, as a Party and for the sake of desperately needed UNITY, do,” he continued, adding a tongue-in-cheek offer of assistance. “We have a lot of money left over in that our biggest asset in the campaign was ‘Earned Media,’ and that doesn’t cost very much. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”
