Former President Donald J. Trump didn’t waste any time firing back at Elon Musk after the billionaire tech mogul launched another round of criticism over the newly advanced reconciliation bill, nicknamed the “Big Beautiful Bill.”
In a late-night Truth Social post, Trump slammed Musk’s complaints, calling them hypocritical and self-serving—especially coming from a man whose entire business empire has thrived on government subsidies.
For weeks now, Musk has been railing against the reconciliation bill, furious over the removal of certain electric vehicle and solar energy incentives. While Trump has consistently stood against Biden’s EV mandates, Musk’s attacks have recently taken a more personal turn.
Musk, who once openly endorsed Trump, is now threatening to go scorched earth on Capitol Hill. He vowed to help primary every single lawmaker who campaigned on cutting government spending but still voted for the bill.
