Adding to the outrage, the ACLU was allowed to bypass normal judicial procedures, jumping ahead of both the Circuit and Appeals Courts to seek immediate relief directly from the Supreme Court. Critics pointed out that no lower court had yet ruled, and that no certified plaintiffs were even established — an unprecedented break from judicial norms.

The move, in effect, grants sweeping rights typically reserved for U.S. citizens to illegal immigrants, a decision Trump says will grind deportations to a near standstill.

Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump minced no words about what’s at stake. “I hope we get cooperation from the courts, because, you know, we have thousands of people that are ready to go out, and you can’t have a trial for all of these people,” Trump told reporters. “It wasn’t meant–the system wasn’t meant–and we don’t think there’s anything that says that.”

Trump emphasized the national security implications of these judicial roadblocks. Under President Biden, he said, America’s borders have been flooded by dangerous criminals from across the globe — a direct consequence of failed immigration policies.

“We were having hundreds of thousands of people a month come in under Biden, and they came in from prisons. They came in from mental institutions. They came in from gangs in Venezuela and other countries all over the world, not just South America,” Trump warned. “They were emptying their prisons into the United States, Venezuela emptied its prisons out, but many countries emptied their prisons into the Congo as an example, in Africa, emptied their prisons into the United States.”

For Trump, restoring law and order at the southern border was one of the main promises he campaigned on — and one he believes voters rewarded by electing him to a second term.

“I won an election based on the fact that we get them out,” Trump said. “We’re getting them out and a judge can say, ‘No, you have to have a trial’ … the trial’s going to take two years, and now we’re going to have a very dangerous country if we’re not allowed to do what we’re entitled to do.”

Conservatives are increasingly alarmed that Democrat-appointed judges, and now even the Supreme Court, are acting to dismantle Trump’s efforts to restore sanity to America’s immigration system.

District Court rulings have already thrown up major roadblocks to mass deportation efforts, but the Supreme Court’s latest move takes the crisis to a new level — raising fears that even the highest court in the land is siding with radical open-borders activists.

This latest decision by the Court is being seen not just as a setback for immigration enforcement, but as a direct challenge to the very foundation of executive authority — sparking concerns of an escalating Constitutional showdown in the months ahead.
