Trump WINS: China Just Caved on Tariffs!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The goods exempted include key sectors like pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals, lifelines for both economic growth and public health. This quiet retreat by Xi Jinping’s regime, while labeled “strategic” by analysts, shows just how effective Trump’s uncompromising approach has become in the ongoing trade tug-of-war.

Experts: Beijing Trying to Save Face

While Chinese officials attempt to spin the move as tactical, seasoned trade watchers aren’t buying it. According to Bloomberg, China’s decision wasn’t driven by conciliation—but by calculation. The country is in damage-control mode, hoping to protect vital industries and jobs without openly appearing to submit to U.S. pressure.

Still, the timing is telling. Chinese officials now say they are “evaluating” Trump’s latest proposals—a tone shift that’s impossible to ignore. “The U.S. has recently taken the initiative on many occasions to convey information to China through relevant parties, saying it hopes to talk with China,” Reuters reported.

Beijing Talks Tough, But It’s All Bark

Despite this olive branch, China’s Ministry of Commerce is still posturing. It warned that it won’t sign any deal under coercion, stating: “attempting to use talks as a pretext to engage in coercion and extortion would not work.” Yet for all their tough talk, actions tell a different story. China is conceding—bit by bit.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that China’s leadership is beginning to crack under the economic pressure. “I am confident that the Chinese will want to reach a deal. And as I said, this is going to be a multi-step process. First, we need to de-escalate. And then over time, we will start focusing on a larger trade deal,” Bessent said.

Tariffs Bite Deep: China Faces Millions of Job Losses

With China potentially staring down the barrel of 5 to 10 million job losses, it’s no wonder Xi’s regime is rethinking its stance. And while the U.S. has also exempted some categories, such as ethanol, the broader picture shows America firmly in control of the negotiating table.

The rhetoric from Chinese diplomats doesn’t match the reality. Just weeks ago, Chinese U.N. Ambassador Fu Cong launched a tirade at the United Nations, accusing the U.S. of “playing a zero-sum game” and acting on “hegemonic ambitions.” His words may have earned applause in Beijing, but in Washington, they rang hollow.

“Under the guise of reciprocity and fairness, the U.S. is playing a zero-sum game, which is essentially about subverting the existing international economic and trade order by means of tariffs, putting U.S. interests above the common good of the international community and advancing hegemonic ambitions of the U.S. at the cost of the legitimate interest of all countries,” Fu Cong declared, as reported by Fox News.

U.S. Responds: “Waste of Time”

A U.S. State Department official shot back, dismissing Fu’s remarks as nothing more than propaganda theater. The official called the meeting “a waste of time” and slammed China’s abuse of the multilateral system.

Despite the noise, Trump’s policies are yielding clear results. And voters are taking notice.

Trump’s Approval Surges Amid Trade Storm

A new J.L. Partners poll conducted for the Daily Mail shows Trump’s approval rating climbing to 53%—a four-point jump from the previous week. This comes even as the media and political establishment howl over his aggressive trade stance. Clearly, the American people are standing behind strength and leadership.

While China scrambles to limit the fallout, Trump’s legacy on trade continues to send shockwaves through global markets. And if Beijing thought it could wait out his return—they might want to think again.
