In a stunning and decisive move late Friday, President Donald Trump delivered a major blow to two of the most entrenched public media institutions in America—NPR and PBS—by pulling the plug on their taxpayer-funded lifeline.
The decision came just 24 hours after damning revelations exposed that both outlets had quietly received far more money from federal sources than previously admitted. In response, Trump signed a scathing executive order aimed at slashing government support, accusing both networks of abandoning their nonpartisan mission and instead becoming megaphones for the political Left.

“At the very least, Americans have the right to expect that if their tax dollars fund public broadcasting at all, they fund only fair, accurate, unbiased, and nonpartisan news coverage. No media outlet has a constitutional right to taxpayer subsidies, and the Government is entitled to determine which categories of activities to subsidize,” the order declares.
