A recent survey puts Florida Governor Ron DeSantis 39 points behind Donald Trump.
A recent study reveals that Trump has the overwhelming support of Florida’s registered Republicans, with 60% of them voting for him. With just 21% of the vote, DeSantis’ campaign has challenges ahead of Iowa.

Former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley came in a strong third place with six percent, while former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie came in last with barely two percent.
In the event that Governor DeSantis and Trump square off, the former does poorly. Just 29% of those surveyed said they would vote for DeSantis, while 59% said they would vote for Trump.
The university’s Public Opinion Research Lab director, Dr. Michael Binder, emphasized that the results of the most recent poll are alarming for DeSantis. “‘Despite historically high approval in the polls, Governor DeSantis losing steam in his home state doesn’t bode well for his national campaign,” he said.
“Even if you wipe out the rest of the competition in a head-to-head, Trump leads DeSantis by 20 points.”
Did those surveyed agree with the former president’s choice to contest the results of the 2020 election? It turns out that around 71% of them thought he was only using his constitutionally granted right to challenge the result.

“Given the support for Trump in the upcoming election, it’s not surprising that most of these voters think he was within his rights to contest the election,” Binder said.
Just 16 percent of those surveyed said they thought Trump’s actions were a “threat” to democracy. Surprisingly, DeSantis garnered somewhat greater support than Haley within this minority.
