Trump Unleashes $500M Against Dems!

Trump made clear that his spending strategy will focus on Republican candidates he believes have a realistic opportunity to win their races. Rather than distributing money indiscriminately, the president said he intends to concentrate resources on candidates he considers strong contenders or those who are within striking distance.

He added that he would make contributions to campaigns of “people that I think are good, Republicans that I think are good, people that I think are going to win and can win or are close to winning.”

The comments underscore Trump’s intention to maintain significant influence over the political operation surrounding the 2026 midterms. The president also distinguished his super PAC resources from money controlled by the Republican National Committee and other Republican fundraising organizations.

Trump stressed that he would have considerable discretion over how the money is deployed.

“I’m gonna spend whatever amount of money necessary to try and help us,” he said. “This is my money that I control. Now, this is separate from the RNC. It’s separate from people having money. And I think it’s not even counted in terms of the media. I’m not sure that they ever talk about it. They just found out about it. But yeah, we have around a billion dollars that I can spend. I can spend for the next race also. I can spend it for what I want to spend it for, but I’m going to help a lot of the congressmen and senators that need help.”

The president also suggested that he does not intend to exhaust the available funds during the current election cycle. Money remaining after the midterms could potentially be held for future political contests, including the 2028 election.

“I could use it for ’28 if I want. … I expect to have money left over and we can use that for ’28,” Trump added.

Federal Election Commission records provide additional context for Trump’s remarks. MAGA Inc. reported approximately $403 million in cash on hand as of July 31, according to the figures cited in the report.

The political organization has spent about $21 million since the beginning of 2025, including approximately $1.7 million in independent expenditures. Among its earlier political activity was nearly $830,000 spent supporting Sen. Darline Graham during a South Carolina Republican primary runoff.

But the group’s political operation is now moving into a much more consequential phase as Republicans prepare for the November contests.

An affiliated nonprofit organization, Securing American Greatness, has also entered the advertising battle. The group reportedly launched a $1 million national advertising campaign highlighting Trump’s record, with the commercials beginning to air around the start of September.

MAGA Inc. has also begun making significant investments in individual races.

On Saturday, the organization filed paperwork with the Federal Election Commission reporting a $10 million expenditure for television and digital advertising in the Texas Senate contest. The spending supports Republican nominee Ken Paxton in his race against Democrat James Talarico.

The Texas purchase represents the group’s first major general-election expenditure in one of the cycle’s closely watched contests, putting the race squarely on Trump’s political radar.

When a reporter asked Trump Friday when MAGA Inc. would begin spending on Paxton, the president gave a brief answer.

“We already did.”

The Texas Senate contest is not the only race receiving Trump’s attention. The president has indicated that he plans to personally campaign for Republican candidates during the closing stretch of the election.

At a White House Rose Garden dinner with Republican lawmakers on September 2, Trump outlined an ambitious plan to spend roughly the final month of the campaign traveling to competitive districts and states.

“I’m going to take the final 30 days, maybe a little bit more than that, because it’s all about 35 races. I’m going to go to every one of those 35 places, and we’re going to see if we can get everyone elected,” he said.

Trump did not provide a complete schedule for the proposed campaign blitz, but he indicated that his attention would be concentrated on the races where Republican candidates face the strongest competition.

The president specifically identified Senate contests in Texas and Alaska as among the races he considers priorities.

Taken together, Trump’s comments point toward an unusually aggressive midterm strategy combining substantial political spending with an extensive personal campaign schedule.

For Republicans, the stakes are significant. Control of Congress will depend on a relatively small number of competitive races, meaning financial resources and presidential appearances could become especially important as Election Day approaches.

Trump’s decision to commit potentially hundreds of millions of dollars from his political operation suggests he intends to play a central role in determining where Republican resources are deployed.

With advertising already beginning in key races and Trump promising an intense final-month campaign, the 2026 midterms are rapidly moving into a high-stakes phase—and the president appears prepared to make sure Republican candidates have the resources and political muscle he believes they need to compete.
