In a wild turn of events that sounds more like a political thriller than real life, The Atlantic’s Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg claims he was accidentally added to a private Signal group chat where senior Trump administration officials were actively coordinating military strikes against Houthi terrorists in Yemen.
Goldberg says he initially connected with National Security Adviser Mike Waltz through Signal, the encrypted messaging app, but just days later found himself inside a chatroom labeled “Houthi PC small group.” What he saw there was nothing short of astonishing.

According to Goldberg, the group included Vice President J.D. Vance, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, and others—top-tier members of President Trump’s Cabinet—openly discussing military strategy related to the escalating Houthi threat and the disrupted shipping routes in the Middle East.
