President Donald Trump delivered a forceful message on faith and national identity Thursday, using the National Prayer Breakfast as a platform to recommit the country to God, Christianity, and America’s spiritual roots.
Speaking before a packed audience at the 74th annual event, Trump framed faith as essential not only to personal fulfillment but to the nation’s moral strength. He warned that abandoning religious belief has come at a cost and argued that a return to faith is already underway across the country.
“We are bringing religion back, hotter than ever before,” Trump said. “You can’t be happy without that belief.”
He went further, telling attendees, “We are bringing God back into our lives, and we’re going to do it with purpose.”
