In an exclusive conversation with Larry Kudlow, former President Donald Trump expresses concerns about the US dollar’s losing status as the world’s reserve currency.
“Our country is going to hell and we’re not going to be the big bar,” Trump began. Although he provided a bleak image of the state of the country’s domestic affairs by mentioning infrastructure problems such deteriorating airports, terminals, and roads, it was his talk of the dollar that attracted attention.

Kudlow asked, “You want the dollar to remain the world’s reserve currency?
“Well, I think it’s bigger than losing any war!” Trump stated.
He alluded to China’s desire to boost the Yuan by suggesting that other countries may look for alternatives to the US currency for international trade. “China wants to replace it with the Yuan,” Trump explained, “And it was unthinkable with us. Unthinkable. Would never have happened. Now people are thinking about it.”

According to experts, the declining value of the dollar might have a significant impact on American trade, increasing expenses and possibly impeding foreign policy. Trump’s warning should compel decision-makers to take action to improve the dollar’s position across the world.
Giving another setback to Biden and the dollar, China and Brazil choose their own currencies over the US dollar. China’s economy is still outpacing that of the US.
“The expectation is that this will reduce costs… promote even greater bilateral trade and facilitate investment,” the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil) said.
China’s ambitious action aims to promote the use of alternative currencies in international trade and challenge the dominance of the dollar. They want to promote a diverse global economy that is not unduly reliant on the US currency, and this is in line with their objective.

Throughout the Biden administration, Trump has repeatedly expressed alarm about the US dollar’s deterioration. He had previously discussed the subject after being arrested in April.
He explained, “Our currency is crashing and will soon no longer be the world standard, which will be our greatest defeat, frankly, in 200 years. There will be no defeat like that. That will take us away from being even a great power.”
Traditional global economic powerhouses like the Euro and the Chinese Yuan are now threatening the US dollar’s once-unchallenged dominance, thanks to the Biden administration.
