President Donald Trump revealed late Friday that the United States military launched a massive bombing operation against Iranian targets, describing it as one of the most powerful air assaults the region has ever witnessed.
The operation reportedly targeted Iranian military installations on Kharg Island, a strategic location long considered one of Tehran’s most important assets in the Persian Gulf.
According to the president, the mission was carried out by U.S. Central Command and resulted in the complete destruction of the military targets that were hit.
Trump broke the news directly to the public through a message posted on Truth Social, where he declared the operation an overwhelming success.
“Moments ago, at my direction, the United States Central Command executed one of the most powerful bombing raids in the History of the Middle East, and totally obliterated every MILITARY target in Iran’s crown jewel, Kharg Island.”
The president emphasized that the strike was focused solely on military infrastructure. Despite the scale of the operation, the United States intentionally avoided attacking the island’s critical oil facilities.
