A Bold Executive Order
On Friday, Trump signed his 200th executive order, and it’s one for the history books. He restored the original name “Department of War” as a secondary title for the Pentagon. From now on, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth will also carry the title “Secretary of War.”
Trump previewed this move back in August, telling reporters that “we had an unbelievable history of victory when it was Department of War.” He continued, “Then we changed it to Department of Defense.” The message is clear: this isn’t about wordplay — it’s about bringing back the mindset that carried America through World War I and World War II.
