A Democratic congressman attempting to lead a crusade against President Donald Trump is now facing the ugly stench of his own past.
Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI), a millionaire biotech mogul-turned-politician, recently made headlines after introducing seven articles of impeachment against President Trump, labeling him a “clear and present danger” to the nation. But now, Thanedar’s political grandstanding is being overshadowed by a scandal involving animal cruelty and corporate negligence tied to his former business empire.

Starving Dogs and Trapped Monkeys
Back in 2010, Thanedar’s now-defunct New Jersey-based lab, AniClin Preclinical Services, filed for bankruptcy and abruptly shut down. What was left behind wasn’t just unpaid bills — but over 100 beagles and more than 50 monkeys abandoned in cages with no food, no water, and no care.
Animal rights activists were forced to scale fences just to reach the animals, bringing them scraps of food and trying desperately to keep them alive. Some lab workers were even locked out, left to witness the horror from outside the gates. According to archived reports, the facility sat in limbo until July 4th, when rescue teams finally evacuated the surviving animals.
