Now, Trump is turning to the courts once again—but the deck appears stacked. Judge Beryl Howell, appointed by Barack Obama, recently blocked part of Trump’s executive order that restricted Perkins Coie employees from entering federal buildings. She granted a temporary restraining order (TRO) in favor of the firm, claiming the executive action violated their due process rights.
This ruling didn’t sit well with Trump—or his legal team. The Department of Justice, under Trump’s direction, previously sought to have Judge Howell disqualified from the case. They accused her of blatant bias and hostility toward the former president.
Trump didn’t mince words when he sounded off on social media.
“I’m suing the law firm of Perkins Coie for their egregious and unlawful acts, in particular the conduct of a specific member of this firm, only to find out that the Judge assigned to this case is Beryl Howell, an Obama appointment, and a highly biased and unfair disaster,” Trump wrote. “She ruled against me in the past, in a shocking display of sick judicial temperament, on a case that ended up working out very well for me, on appeal.
“Her ruling was so pathologically bad that it became the ‘talk of the town.’ I could have a 100% perfect case and she would angrily rule against me,” he added. “It’s called Trump Derangement Syndrome, and she’s got a bad case of it. To put it nicely, Beryl Howell is an unmitigated train wreck.”
“NO JUSTICE!!!”
The entire saga is yet another example of what conservatives see as the two-tiered justice system at play in America—one that punishes Trump while shielding his political enemies.
This isn’t the first time Trump has found himself under the gavel of a Clinton or Obama-appointed judge. When he filed his lawsuit against Hillary Clinton and other figures over the Russia collusion hoax, the case landed in the hands of Judge Donald Middlebrooks—a Bill Clinton appointee. That lawsuit ended in brutal fashion, with Middlebrooks sanctioning both Trump and attorney Alina Habba to the tune of $1 million for what the court claimed was a “revenge” lawsuit.

The sanctions didn’t deter Trump. If anything, they fueled his fire.
With the legal system increasingly weaponized against political opponents, Trump’s supporters see this battle not just as another court case—but a test of the nation’s integrity. While Democrats scramble to protect their institutions, Trump continues to bulldoze through the hypocrisy and fight for what he calls true justice.
This fight is far from over. If there’s one thing the American people know by now, it’s that Donald Trump doesn’t walk away from a challenge. And Perkins Coie might just find out what happens when they go head-to-head with a president who plays to win.
