President Donald Trump’s historic record on global peace just got ignored in the most disgraceful way imaginable.
Despite ending eight major wars and pulling the world back from the brink of chaos, the Nobel Committee decided to hand this year’s Peace Prize to Venezuelan opposition leader María Corina Machado — and the excuse they gave for overlooking Trump was nothing short of insulting.
A Nobel Committee Gone Political
The announcement left conservatives stunned. The same committee that once gave Barack Obama the Nobel Peace Prize for simply winning an election has now turned its back on the man who actually brokered peace deals across continents.
Instead of honoring Trump’s unmatched diplomatic achievements, the committee claimed Machado earned the award for “her tireless work promoting democratic rights for the people of Venezuela and for her struggle to achieve a just and peaceful transition from dictatorship to democracy.”
That’s commendable — but when asked why Trump, who literally ended wars, wasn’t chosen, Nobel Committee chair Jørgen Watne Frydnes offered a smug, elitist response.
