Homan Hits Back With Cold, Hard Numbers
Tom Homan, appearing on Fox News’ “America’s Newsroom,” didn’t mince words when asked about Newsom’s latest attack.
“It’s disgusting. He’s an embarrassment to the position he holds,” Homan declared.
Then he dropped the fact that ripped Newsom’s entire argument apart. Since Trump took office, ICE has made about 200,000 arrests and deported roughly 350,000 criminal illegal immigrants nationwide. In Los Angeles alone, federal authorities have arrested 5,000 suspects since June.
“If he had an ounce of integrity, if [Democrat Los Angeles Mayor] Karen Bass had an ounce of integrity, they’d be thanking President Trump for making California safe again,” Homan explained. “You just listed all the bad people we’ve taken off streets.”
Homan went even further, pointing out that Newsom and Bass don’t have to lift a finger because federal agents are doing the job they refuse to do. “Governor Newsom can just sit back and watch us make his state safe again because they’ve done nothing, we’ll do it for them,” he said.
Sanctuary Policies That Protect Criminals
This is the heart of the issue: California leaders have chosen to side with criminals instead of citizens. Newsom’s administration and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass doubled down on so-called “sanctuary” policies that block cooperation with ICE.
In July, Bass even signed an order that prohibits local officials from helping federal immigration agents. The result? Criminals get shielded from accountability while law-abiding residents are left vulnerable.
Newsom’s twisted priorities were on full display after an ICE raid on a violent marijuana farm. Instead of asking how dangerous criminals ended up working there, the governor attacked ICE for allegedly traumatizing children who watched arrests take place. He even called Trump “scum” for allowing the operation.
The Brutal Reality
The truth is clear: federal law enforcement is cleaning up California while its leaders stand in the way. ICE agents aren’t rounding up random people – they are targeting violent offenders, sexual predators, and gang members who have been terrorizing communities.
“We’re gonna be there today, we’re gonna be there tomorrow, we’re not going anywhere,” Homan promised. “President Trump made a promise to the American people that we’re gonna make this country safe again, and that includes L.A., that includes California.”
And here’s the kicker – Homan doesn’t need Newsom’s permission to enforce federal law. ICE agents answer to the Constitution, not to Sacramento. Whether Newsom likes it or not, child predators and gang members are being pulled off the streets.
California’s Wake-Up Call
What’s happening right now in California is a wake-up call. Federal agents are doing the work that Newsom and Bass were elected to do but abandoned. Voters are now witnessing firsthand what real law enforcement looks like – and how much safer their communities become when leaders stop protecting criminals.
The contrast couldn’t be clearer. Trump’s administration is keeping its promise to restore safety. Meanwhile, Gavin Newsom is busy protecting sanctuary policies that only serve criminals.
And in the end, that brutal fact is something even Newsom can’t deny.
