Just as Team USA made history in men’s hockey, winning its first Olympic gold in 46 years against Canada, the liberal media decided to take a completely different approach. The HuffPost actually suggested that waving an American flag and chanting “USA” might signal a psychological problem. Yes, you read that right: celebrating your country is now, apparently, a mental health issue.
Meanwhile, Matthew Tkachuk, the two-time Stanley Cup champion and Florida Panthers superstar, returned from the Olympics with gold around his neck and a message that had the left shaking. Stepping off his plane in Miami, he found a reporter and didn’t hold back. His words are making every HuffPost editor reach for their therapy hotline.
When asked about President Trump’s congratulatory call following the dramatic overtime win in Milan, Tkachuk didn’t mince words. He wasn’t cautious, diplomatic, or politically correct. He said:
“It was super cool. It’s an honor hearing from the President of the United States. Hearing that he was supporting us and all the other athletes wanting us to bring home as many gold medals as we can.”
