Synergy World, a California-based company that issued multi-restaurant gift cards sold nationwide at Costco, quietly filed for Chapter 7 bankruptcy on January 31, 2026. They aren’t reorganizing or negotiating with creditors – they’re gone for good. The company’s collapse leaves cardholders holding worthless plastic.
These gift cards had been marketed as a money-saving tool, good at over 100 participating restaurants across states like California, Florida, New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Texas, and Virginia. Families bought them as Christmas gifts, completely unaware the company was days away from vanishing.
