Thune Sends Alarming Signal on SAVE Act

CNN’s resident numbers guy Harry Enten quietly dropped a political bombshell this week while reviewing the latest polling on voter integrity. His findings cut straight through years of media spin and Democratic talking points: Americans overwhelmingly support mandatory photo voter ID laws when casting ballots in U.S. elections.

CNN’s Harry Enton finds 83% of Americans believe in photo voter ID. Will spineless Republicans push it through the Senate?

Despite constant claims from the Left that voter ID requirements are somehow “racist” or “anti-democratic,” the data tells a very different story. The United States now stands out among free nations for one glaring reason—it remains one of the only developed democracies that does not universally require photo identification to vote. In most countries, showing ID is common sense. In America, Democrats have turned it into a political battlefield.

Nowhere is that more apparent than in California, where radical Democrats went even further. Under state law, election workers are legally prohibited from even asking voters to show photo identification. Incredibly, requesting ID at the polls can result in criminal penalties. What would be considered election security in nearly every other free nation has been criminalized in one of America’s largest states.

Enten’s polling revealed something Democrats don’t want voters to hear. A staggering 83 percent of Americans support photo voter ID laws, a number that has climbed higher than at any point over the past decade. This is not a fringe opinion. It is not partisan extremism. It is a near-consensus shared by Republicans, independents, and even a significant portion of Democratic voters.
