Donald Trump was impressed by the riveting question Ron DeSantis posed.
After the 2022 midterm elections, Ron DeSantis has become the front-runner, leading Donald Trump in both important early state polls and the national polls.
Democratic prosecutors started charging Trump in 2023 in an effort to stop him from running for president. However, this action precipitated a change in public opinion, with Republicans strongly endorsing Trump.
In the crucial early four states of Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Nevada, Trump now leads DeSantis by more than 30 points nationwide and between 19 and 30 points in each of those states.
Once DeSantis formally entered the race, his supporters believed the polls would change.
Will Cain, the interviewer on Fox News, questioned Governor DeSantis about his consistently low polling results, which ranged from 10 to 20 percent. Given DeSantis’ outstanding achievements as governor in securing conservative victories, this is unexpected.
“Why do you think despite those successes so far, it hasn’t been reflected in your polling for your 2024 run for President of the United States?” Cain began. “And while Donald Trump is above 50% – in some of these polls, 60% – your numbers are somewhere between 20% and 10%. And they’ve stayed there for about two months. Why is it in your estimation the numbers have not reflected your success in Florida?”

DeSantis has acted firmly to safeguard life at the outset and bring about Constitutional Carry. Additionally, he has stated that Florida will impose severe fines on anyone caught trafficking illegal aliens there. In order to maintain a focus on impartial education, he has also forbade the introduction of Critical Race Theory and gender identity discussions in the classroom. DeSantis has also firmly opposed mandatory vaccination and mask use, recognizing each person’s right to freedom of choice.
DeSantis claimed that the media’s criticism of him was due to their concerns about him because he saw himself as a more formidable foe than Donald Trump.
“Well, I think if you look at the people like the corporate media, who are they going after?” DeSantis. “Who do they not want to be the nominee? They’re going after me. Who’s the president of Mexico attacking because he knows who’ll be strong on the border and hold him accountable and the cartels? He’s going after me. So, I think if you look at all these people that are responsible for a lot of the ills in our society, they’re targeting me as the person they do not want to see as the candidate.”
The RealClearPolitics polling average shows that Trump leads Joe Biden by a slim margin of 0.6 points right now. DeSantis, on the other hand, is lagging behind by a single point.
According to a recent survey by Echelon Insights, Trump is now leading Biden by a large margin of seven points in the important swing states that have the ability to decide the election’s outcome.
In order to offer DeSantis the chance to answer concerns about his difficulty establishing a personal connection with voters, Cain shifted the subject.
“I’m curious about the analysis of Ron DeSantis of why not yet [he’s] connecting,” Cain asked.
The outstanding fundraising totals for DeSantis during the second quarter spoke for themselves. He was able to raise an incredible $20 million in just six weeks from donors in all 50 states. This tremendous accomplishment is a definite evidence that he is gaining the crucial national support required to prevail in a Presidential Primary.
“So, we’ve got a huge amount of support to be able to take the case to the people,” DeSantis added. “We really haven’t started that yet.”
DeSantis accurately draws attention to the length of time that passed before the first ballots in Iowa and New Hampshire.
But time is running out because former President and current front-runner Donald Trump poses a serious obstacle that needs immediate response.
Time is passing quickly, to quote a proverb that has stood the test of time.
