Two Chinese nationals with strong ties to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are now in custody after being caught smuggling a biological weapon into the United States—through one of the nation’s busiest airports.

Federal prosecutors in Michigan announced the arrest of Yunqing Jian, a 33-year-old Chinese national, for importing a highly dangerous agricultural pathogen. Alongside Jian was her boyfriend, 34-year-old Zunyong Liu, who helped sneak the biological agent through Detroit Metropolitan Airport.
The pathogen in question? Fusarium graminearum—a lethal fungus that devastates crops like wheat, corn, barley, and rice. It not only destroys harvests but produces toxins that can cause liver damage, vomiting, and birth defects in humans and animals alike.
