In yet another example of the mainstream media jumping the gun, false reports recently swept across left-leaning outlets claiming Robert F. Kennedy Jr. fired two senior officials at the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). The truth? Much more complicated—and telling.
Earlier this month, reports exploded online suggesting that Kennedy abruptly ousted his Chief of Staff, Heather Flick Melanson, and Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Hannah Anderson. Legacy networks like ABC News parroted the narrative without clarity, fueling speculation. But contrary to initial reporting, Melanson was not fired—she resigned.
A source close to the matter confirmed to The Gateway Pundit that Heather Flick Melanson, a well-known Trump supporter and skeptic of the COVID vaccine agenda, voluntarily stepped down. She wasn’t forced out by Kennedy or anyone in the administration.
“Heather is a freedom-first patriot,” the source told The Gateway Pundit. “She didn’t get fired. She walked away on her own terms.”
Despite this, ABC painted a picture of internal chaos, quoting an unnamed insider who said Kennedy “has every right to make personnel decisions.” The official line from HHS was vague at best.
