Instead of standing on her own convictions as a Texas representative, she was literally taking orders from Democrats in other states while official proceedings were underway.
But her plan collapsed in real time once someone informed her that taking direction from outside officials during legislative proceedings is considered a felony in Texas.
In the middle of the call, Collier suddenly realized the seriousness of what she had done.
“Sorry, I have to leave. They said it’s a felony for me to do this,” she blurted out, interrupting the discussion.
The unease in her voice made it clear she knew she had been caught crossing the line.
“Apparently I can’t be on the floor or in the bathroom,” she continued, before speaking to someone off camera.
“You told me I was only allowed to be here in the bathroom,” she said, before hurriedly adding to the group, “No, hang on. Bye everybody. I’ve got to go.”
Just like that, Collier’s attempt at sneaky coordination came crashing down.
Rather than acknowledge the law Collier had just admitted breaking, Gavin Newsom and Cory Booker launched into the same tired routine Democrats use whenever they’re cornered: race politics.
“That is outrageous,” Booker ranted. “Let me tell you something, Rep. Collier in the bathroom has more dignity than Donald Trump in the Oval Office.”
Newsom nodded along as Booker doubled down, declaring:
“What they’re trying to do right there is silence an American leader, silence a black woman, and that is outrageous.”
Notice what he didn’t say: anything about Collier knowingly violating Texas law. Instead, the Senator tried to spin accountability into “suppression.”
“What we just witnessed, them trying to shut her down and saying it’s illegal for her to be in the bathroom and on this call, this is the lengths that they’re going to in Texas,” Booker claimed.
Let’s be clear: Texas law bans lawmakers from taking live direction from out-of-state politicians during official business for a reason. The integrity of the legislative process is at stake.
Collier wasn’t freelancing — she was part of a larger operation. Her call with Newsom, Booker, and DNC leadership proves Democrats were coordinating nationally to obstruct Texas redistricting.
This isn’t the first time, either. Remember when dozens of Texas Democrats fled the state in 2021 to prevent a quorum? Now it’s obvious they weren’t acting on their own — they were following a national playbook crafted by Democrat power brokers outside Texas.
Governor Greg Abbott was right to call these lawmakers out and demand accountability. His decision to threaten arrests and removal from office suddenly makes perfect sense once you realize they were taking orders from operatives in other states.
Even after Collier’s meltdown, Democrats didn’t back down. Newsom openly boasted that he would push a California redistricting map specifically designed to counter Texas. And the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee rolled out maps meant to wipe out multiple Republican seats.
This was never about “voting rights” or “democracy.” It was about rigging the system to lock Republicans out of power, no matter what voters actually want.
But here’s the problem for Democrats: Texans see what’s happening. When voters find out their representatives were literally taking cues from California politicians in the middle of a legislative debate, they’re not going to forget it come election time.
Democrats thought they could secretly coordinate across state lines to sabotage Texas redistricting. Instead, they got exposed in spectacular fashion.
Collier’s nervous exit from the call showed everything — arrogance, entitlement, and panic when faced with the law. Newsom and Booker’s spin only confirmed how desperate Democrats are to cling to power.
Despite the obstruction, Texas Republicans passed their redistricting plan. The system worked. And Democrats’ carefully orchestrated interference collapsed under its own corruption.
This fiasco is a warning sign: the Left will break the rules, rewrite them, and cry “racism” when caught. But in the end, Texans aren’t buying it.
