Cruz went even further, predicting not only that Schumer’s Senate career is nearing its end but also identifying who he believes is most likely to inherit one of the country’s most influential Senate seats.
Schumer, who has represented New York in the U.S. Senate since 1999, has recently faced criticism from progressive activists over several high-profile votes and his leadership style. The criticism became especially visible when he was loudly booed by attendees during New York City’s Pride celebration, an incident that underscored growing frustration among many liberal activists.
Cruz believes that frustration has reached a point of no return.
