The Biden administration just set a new benchmark for government waste—and this one’s electrifying, but not in the way they hoped.
In yet another stunning example of failed liberal leadership, a bombshell report from the Government Accountability Office (GAO) just exposed how Joe Biden’s multi-billion-dollar electric vehicle charger plan has gone nowhere fast. The $7.5 billion project, touted as a signature win of Biden’s 2021 infrastructure bill, has so far produced… wait for it… fewer than 400 charging stations.
That’s not a typo. After all the fanfare, and three years of bureaucratic chest-thumping, Biden’s grand green energy dream has managed to build fewer than one charger per $20 million spent. For reference, that’s enough money to build a luxury home with gold faucets and marble floors in every state—twice.
The program, originally designed to flood the highways with 500,000 EV chargers, has become yet another monument to Democratic failure. While Biden promised to deliver an EV charging revolution, his administration barely managed a fizzle.
