Talarico Doubles Down on “Nonbinary God” Claim

Texas Democratic Senate nominee James Talarico is facing intensifying political heat as he continues a media tour defending a series of controversial past statements that Republicans are using to define his candidacy heading into a pivotal general election fight.

The backlash comes as allies of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton launch a sustained advertising campaign aimed squarely at resurfacing Talarico’s previous remarks on gender, religion, immigration, and cultural issues—framing them as out of step with mainstream Texas voters.

Central to the messaging is a pro-Paxton media blitz highlighting Talarico’s past comments, including claims that “God is nonbinary,” assertions about multiple biological sexes, calls for reduced meat consumption, criticism of the American flag, support for open borders, and statements expressing support for “trans children.”

One recent ad from the Lone Star Liberty PAC does not hold back in its framing, featuring the line: “Low-T Talarico, too weak for Texas.”

Another spot contrasts Talarico’s record with Texas cultural identity more broadly, declaring, “This is Texas. This is not,” while again branding him “Radical Talarico” and repeating the line “Too Low-T for Texas.”
