Sweetwater’s Secret Wind Fraud Finally Exposed

For years, the Left has portrayed wind energy as a “planet-saving” solution. Reality, however, is proving far less idyllic. In West Texas, thousands of massive wind turbine blades now sit abandoned, prompting criminal indictments and a high-stakes civil lawsuit against a key recycling company.

The company at the center of the controversy, Global Fiberglass Solutions, allegedly collected millions to dispose of wind turbine blades — some stretching more than 200 feet — and then walked away, leaving the mess behind.

The Fallout From a Failed “Green” Cleanup

The saga began in 2017 when Global Fiberglass Solutions of Texas agreed to recycle decommissioned blades from energy companies. The plan was simple: process the massive components at two Sweetwater-area sites.

But according to a February lawsuit filed by Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the recycling never happened. Instead, the blades and other turbine parts stacked up, forming massive piles across the properties. By March 2025, investigators counted roughly 487,000 cubic yards of solid waste — blades, nacelles, and other components — scattered across the unpermitted sites.
