Appearing on the “Stay Tuned with Preet” podcast hosted by Preet Bharara, Rice signaled that Democrats are preparing a new strategy for when they regain power. And if you listen carefully to her words, it sounds less like reconciliation and more like retribution.

The episode was titled “Democrats Done Playing Nice.” Rice made clear that the era of what she views as Democratic restraint is over.

During the interview, Rice warned that institutions she believes accommodated President Trump will not be spared in the future.

“But when it comes to the elites, the corporate interests, the law firms, the universities, the media, I agree with you, Preet. It is not going to end well for them. I think they’re now starting to realize, wait a minute, this is not popular.”

Rice argued that Trump’s policy agenda lacks broad public support.

“Trump is not popular. What he is doing, whether on the economy and affordability or on immigration now, is not popular, and that there is likely to be a swing in the other direction. And they are going to be caught with more than their pants down.”
