Survivor: “God Saved Me With This Cross”

A Florida man says divine intervention is the only reason he’s alive today after a bullet aimed at his chest was stopped by a gold cross necklace hanging around his neck.

20-year-old Aidan Perry of Ocala was with a friend who was showing off a newly purchased .40-caliber handgun. What should have been a simple demonstration turned into a nightmare when the firearm discharged at close range. The round was fired from just eight to ten feet away, directly at Perry.

“I looked down I see tons of blood,” Perry told WRBW-TV. “I thought I was going to die, honestly.”

The bullet struck Perry’s gold cross, snapping it in half. The force redirected the round, sending it across his chest and through his arm rather than piercing his heart. The shot shattered his humerus bone, but doctors say the outcome could have been far worse.
