Rep. Pramila Jayapal (D-WA), a prominent member of the progressive “Squad,” has ignited fierce criticism for a statement deemed “nonsensical” by critics. In her effort to rally support for tighter gun control, Jayapal posted on X (formerly Twitter), claiming it’s easier to buy firearms than concert tickets.
“It shouldn’t be easier to buy an assault weapon than concert tickets,” Jayapal wrote on Monday. However, the tweet failed to resonate as intended. Within two days, it had garnered just over 1,100 reposts but attracted 8,400 comments, a disproportionate response indicative of significant disagreement.
