For millions of Americans, the message crossed a line. For Trump, it detonated like a political bomb.
The former president responded almost immediately on Truth Social after the Washington Examiner highlighted the Democrat video. His fury was unmistakable. Trump accused the six lawmakers of urging outright sedition from inside the federal government.
A seething Trump wrote:
“It’s called SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL. Each one of these traitors to our Country should be ARRESTED AND PUT ON TRIAL.
Their words cannot be allowed to stand – We won’t have a Country anymore!!! An example MUST BE SET. President DJT”
Trump wasn’t finished. In a follow-up post, he warned that the Democrats’ rhetoric was not only reckless but dangerous to America’s stability.
He continued:
“This is really bad, and Dangerous to our Country. Their words cannot be allowed to stand.
SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOR FROM TRAITORS!!! LOCK THEM UP??? President DJT”
With those statements, Trump made it unmistakably clear: he believes these lawmakers stepped far beyond policy disagreements and into advocating insubordination against the Commander-in-Chief. For Trump, that’s not just political theater—it’s a direct attack on America’s constitutional order.
To hammer home his point, Trump also re-truthed multiple posts from supporters who echoed his concerns and backed his demand for accountability. The former president wanted no ambiguity: in his view, any attempt to undermine the nation’s armed forces or intelligence community from inside Congress must carry consequences.
Now, the question gripping Washington: Will anything come of Trump’s demand for legal action?
With Attorney General Pam Bondi expected to review the matter, the spotlight now shifts to the Justice Department. Bondi will ultimately decide whether the lawmakers’ video constitutes protected political speech—or if it crosses into the territory Trump is describing as criminal sedition.
