In a startling incident that has sparked outrage across social media, Secret Service agents reportedly broke into a hair salon in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris’s fundraiser on July 27. The agents allegedly tampered with security cameras, violated the business owner’s privacy, and left the establishment unsecured—all without the owner’s consent.
The Four One Three Salon, owned by Alicia Powers, was located near the Colonial Theatre, where Harris was scheduled to host her first in-person fundraiser since becoming the presumptive Democratic nominee. Despite Powers complying with the Secret Service’s initial requests to close her business for the day to ensure the area was secure, what unfolded next was beyond anything she expected.

Powers explained to the media that she understood the need for strict security measures given the high-profile nature of the event. “They had a bunch of people in and out of here doing a couple of bomb sweeps again — totally understand what they have to do, due to the nature of the situation,” she told Business Insider. “And at that point, my team felt like it was a little bit chaotic, and we just made the decision to close for Saturday.”
