O’Donnell Invokes Nazi Germany While Attacking ICE
In a video posted to social media, O’Donnell compared current immigration enforcement in the United States to some of history’s darkest atrocities.
She also leveled an explosive accusation concerning children held in immigration detention.
“We’re rounding up people without a warrant,” she declared. “We’re raping children in ICE detention. They’re all getting pregnant.”
O’Donnell proceeded to question who had access to detained girls and what happened to their babies.
Those are extraordinarily serious allegations, and the material provided for this article does not establish evidence that ICE personnel are systematically sexually assaulting detained children or impregnating them.
Yet O’Donnell presented the accusation in stark terms while using imagery associated with Nazi Germany and the Holocaust to condemn the Trump administration’s immigration policies.

During a 2019 appearance on Bravo’s “Watch What Happens Live,” O’Donnell claimed there were “over 100,000 concentration camps” operating in the United States.
The claim immediately attracted ridicule and scrutiny.
Seven years later, O’Donnell is again reaching for some of the most extreme historical comparisons available while attacking federal immigration enforcement.
Only now she is doing it from thousands of miles away.
She Left America After Trump Returned
O’Donnell departed the United States with her youngest daughter in January 2025 and relocated to Ireland.
She has subsequently discussed pursuing Irish citizenship while continuing to speak frequently about Trump and American politics.
Trump remains one of her favorite subjects.
Last month, O’Donnell mocked the president with a song referring to his “teeny tiny” penis.
She has also accused Trump of being “obsessed” with her, continuing a feud between the two celebrities that stretches back decades.
In June, O’Donnell went considerably further, suggesting to her followers that Trump could exploit “an assassination attempt or terrorist bombing” as justification for canceling the midterm elections.
The result has been an unusual political spectacle: one of Trump’s most famous celebrity adversaries leaving the country after his election victory, then continuing to issue increasingly dire warnings about America from abroad.
O’Donnell’s Family Troubles Add Another Layer
O’Donnell’s public attacks on the United States have unfolded alongside serious problems within her own family.
Her daughter Chelsea has faced legal troubles in Wisconsin and has been held in custody following a probation violation.
O’Donnell has publicly asked supporters to pray for her daughter while she remains overseas.
That contrast has only intensified criticism from conservatives who see O’Donnell’s latest rhetoric as another example of wealthy celebrities portraying America as uniquely oppressive while enjoying comfortable lives outside the country.
O’Donnell is hardly the first Hollywood personality to leave the United States or spend extended periods abroad while continuing to criticize American politics.
But few have gone as far as comparing the country they left behind to Nazi Germany while accusing federal immigration authorities of horrific crimes.
Trump Administration Defends Immigration Crackdown
The Trump administration, meanwhile, has portrayed its immigration enforcement campaign in dramatically different terms.
The Department of Homeland Security has emphasized arrests and removals involving dangerous criminals, gang members, drug traffickers and other offenders as evidence that tougher immigration enforcement is making American communities safer.
In its year-end assessment, DHS credited the administration’s enforcement agenda with “safer cities, plummeting fentanyl overdoses, cheaper rents, higher wages, and a better quality of life for millions of Americans.”
That picture bears little resemblance to the dystopian America described in O’Donnell’s videos.
There are legitimate debates over immigration enforcement, detention conditions, deportations and the proper limits of federal authority. Those arguments can—and should—be fought vigorously.
But allegations of systematic sexual abuse against children require evidence commensurate with their seriousness.
O’Donnell’s latest attack instead combines an incendiary Holocaust comparison with allegations that, based on the information supplied here, have not been substantiated.
The comedian may have left America after Trump returned to power.
She certainly hasn’t stopped fighting with it.
