After leaving Congress, he worked in the Trump administration, holding roles such as Assistant Secretary of Commerce for Economic Development and Assistant to the President for Planning and Implementation.
Despite the backlash, Cassidy has indicated he plans to seek another term. “I’ve not announced yet, but I’m obviously working hard toward 2026,” Cassidy said. He emphasized his efforts to secure federal funding for Louisiana’s infrastructure, stating, “If they’re judging candidates on how much they’ve done for our state… I feel like I’ll be judged pretty well.”

He thought it was so ‘cool,’ until he got home and was literally pelted with everything that could be used for such an inglorious happening.”
