Biden has a packed itinerary. Before traveling to Colorado, he is scheduled to attend a memorial ceremony for the late first lady Rosalynn Carter in Georgia. But he’s not going to meet Milei.
Top Treasury Department officials are scheduled to meet with Milei’s advisors on economic policies. The focus of this crucial discussion will be the upcoming Milei administration’s top goals for economic policy.
“We want to continue to look for ways to cooperate with Argentina,” Kirby said.
“Argentina is a healthy and vibrant partner in this hemisphere on many, many issues. And so we’re looking forward to obviously hearing what the president-elect’s ideas are and where he wants to go on policy issues and making sure that we have a chance to keep that channel of communication open.”
Milei’s Washington meetings ”are protocol-driven to explain the economic plan: fiscal adjustment, monetary reform, state reform and deregulation,” stated a Milei representative who asked not to be identified since he was not allowed to speak on the record. “It is not in search of financing.”
Milei, who was elected earlier this month and is expected to take office on December 10, has drawn comparisons to the late President Donald Trump.
In a congratulatory call last week, the president-elect expressed his favorable opinion of Trump and stated that he will fly to Argentina to have a face-to-face meeting with the 45th president.
Hours after Biden spoke with Milei over the phone, Milei spoke with the former president, who is the front-runner for the GOP presidential nomination in 2024.

Milei had a great time exploring the busy streets of New York City on Monday, but today they’re aiming for the Washington power hub. Their primary goal? holding important conversations with representatives of the International Monetary Fund.
Milei went to the grave of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the founder of the Chabad-Lubavitch organization, who passed away in 1994 after leading it for more than 40 years, when she was in New York. Every year, hundreds of Jews go to the Queens cemetery where Schneerson is buried, and occasionally international dignitaries also pay their respects.
Roman Catholic Milei has studied the Torah for many years and has spoken publicly his admiration for Judaism. He has stated that he wants to become a Jew, but he hasn’t formally begun the conversion process even though he claims to be near.
Additionally, Milei has stated his unwavering support for Israel both before and after his election as president. Milei frequently waved an Israeli flag at his rallies during the campaign.
The incoming president of Argentina has declared his intention to follow Trump’s lead and relocate his country’s embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.
“I don’t go to the church; I go to the temple. I don’t talk to priests; I have a head rabbi. I study the Torah,” In an August interview, Milei stated. “I’m internationally recognized as a friend of Israel and a scholar of the Torah.”
