For nearly four decades, Communist China has worked relentlessly to erase one of the darkest chapters in its history.

But now, Senator Rick Scott is backing a proposal that could make it impossible for the Chinese Communist Party to avoid the subject while operating inside the United States.
The effort comes as lawmakers seek a highly symbolic way to ensure the victims of the Tiananmen Square massacre are never forgotten, regardless of how aggressively Beijing attempts to rewrite history.
A New Address China Won’t Be Able to Escape
On the 37th anniversary of the bloody crackdown that shocked the world, Senator Rick Scott and Representative Andy Ogles unveiled legislation aimed directly at the Chinese Embassy in Washington, D.C.
The proposal would rename the road running in front of the embassy to “Tiananmen Square Memorial Boulevard.”
