President Donald Trump’s senior budget officer, Russell Vought, is set to take charge of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) once Elon Musk steps down. As director of the White House Office of Management and Budget, Vought has been instrumental in shaping Trump’s fiscal agenda and will now oversee major governmental cutbacks.

Vought has previously collaborated with Musk behind the scenes, earning praise for his department’s efforts to reduce federal regulations. Trump himself has repeatedly emphasized his administration’s commitment to cutting red tape, declaring that “for every one new regulation, ten must be eliminated.”
