Protest Gone Wrong: Two Arrested for Attacking DC Officer

Authorities in Washington, D.C., took swift action Tuesday night, arresting two individuals accused of assaulting a police officer near Vice President Kamala Harris’s campaign rally. The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) confirmed the incident, which took place around 7:00 p.m. at the intersection of 17th Street and Constitution Avenue, just a short distance from the White House.

The two suspects—a man and a woman—were detained outside the security perimeter surrounding the Ellipse, a park that served as the site of Harris’s campaign event. Harris was expected to take the stage around 7:40 p.m., according to Fox News Digital. The timing of the arrests suggests they occurred shortly before Harris’s address.
