Primary Results In… And It’s HUGE for Trump

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore has secured a major political win in Alabama’s Republican Senate runoff, positioning himself as the GOP nominee for the state’s open U.S. Senate seat in November. His victory came after receiving a high-profile endorsement from President Donald Trump, a factor widely seen as influential in the race.

Moore defeated former Navy SEAL and political newcomer Jared Hudson in a closely watched GOP runoff. The contest will decide who replaces outgoing Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who is leaving his Senate seat to pursue the Alabama governorship.

On the Democratic side, voters also participated in a separate runoff to select their nominee for the November general election. Once both parties finalize their candidates, the winners will face off in what is expected to be a competitive statewide race, according to The Associated Press.
