A startling survey reveals Americans’ openness to investigating “alternative” to democracy and their controversial opinions on political violence.
More than 2,000 registered voters were asked to participate in a poll conducted by the University of Virginia Center for Politics in late October to determine their support for either incumbent Democratic President Joe Biden or front-runner Republican former President Donald Trump in 2024.

There was a clear gulf between the two groups.
Many people from a variety of backgrounds thought that there was a great deal of division in the nation and were open to the idea of replacing the democratic system.
Participants in the survey were asked to indicate if they agreed or disagreed with the statement. “Democracy is no longer a viable system, and America should explore alternative forms of government to ensure stability and progress.”
More over thirty percent of Trump’s fans are willing to think about a system other than democracy.
In the meanwhile, 24% of those who declared their support for Biden concurred that democracy is no longer “viable.”
Regarding political violence, the survey questioned participants if they agreed or disagreed with the following statement: “People who support the [Republican/Democratic] party and its ideologies have become so extreme in what they want that it is acceptable to use violence to stop them from achieving their goals.”
More over forty percent of Biden’s fans think that because Republicans are so radical, it is OK to use violence against them.

Regarding Democrats, more than one-third of Trump’s followers voiced a consistent opinion.
The majority of both groups, according to the University of Virginia Center for Politics, firmly feel that electing members of the opposition party will harm our country in the long run.
Voters were asked to respond to the following statement in the survey: “I believe that electing officials from the [Republican/Democratic] party in 2024 would result in lasting harm to the United States.”
Supporters of Biden, seventy percent of respondents, said that electing Republicans would do “lasting harm.”
More over 50% of Trump’s followers think the Democrats will be extremely difficult to defeat.
More over forty percent of Biden’s followers think the Republican Party is a danger to the American way of life.
This is also the attitude that nearly half of Trump’s followers have about the Democratic Party.
States breaking away from the US to form their own nations is supported by 31% of Biden backers and 41% of Trump voters.
A recent study by the University of Virginia Center for Politics, which polled more than 2,000 registered voters, reveals voter sentiment. The results have a very small error margin—just 2.2%.
