Police Reveal Chilling Discovery in Shooter’s Vehicle

That revelation triggered an immediate federal response. The FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force was brought in alongside local law enforcement after preliminary evidence raised red flags about possible ideological motives behind the violence.

During a Sunday morning press briefing, Alex Doran, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the FBI San Antonio Field Office, confirmed that investigators are not ruling out terrorism.

“Obviously, it’s still way too early in the process to determine an exact motivation, but there were indicators on the subject and then his vehicle that indicate a potential nexus to terrorism,” Doran said.

Additional details have since intensified public concern. Fox News correspondent Bill Melugin reported that Diagne was wearing a shirt reading “Property Of Allah” at the time of the attack. That account was further supported by Tony Ortiz of Current Revolt, who shared an image allegedly sent by a source close to the investigation.

The New York Post also reported that Diagne had lived in the United States for approximately 15 years, including a prior residence in New York City between 2000 and 2008. Law enforcement sources confirmed that he had a documented arrest history in Texas before Saturday night’s deadly rampage.

The shooting unfolded shortly after 2 a.m. outside Buford’s Backyard Beer Garden, a popular nightlife spot located on West Sixth Street, just blocks from the University of Texas campus.

According to Lisa Davis, the suspect initially opened fire from inside a large SUV that had been circling the area. “At one point, he put his flashers on, rolled down his window, and began using a pistol, shooting out of his car windows, striking patrons of the bar that were on the patio and that were in front of the bar,” Davis said.

The violence escalated when the gunman exited his vehicle armed with a rifle and continued firing at innocent bystanders. Fortunately, police officers had already been deployed to the district to manage weekend crowds and were able to respond in under a minute. Officers confronted the suspect and fatally shot him, ending the threat.

In total, three people — including the gunman — were killed. Fourteen others were injured, with at least three reported to be in critical condition. As investigators continue piecing together the suspect’s background and possible motivations, the incident has reignited national debate over terrorism, public safety, and whether warning signs were missed before lives were lost.

Federal officials say the investigation remains active, and more information is expected in the coming days.
